The Influence of a Place-Based Foundation and a Public University in Growing a Rural Health Workforce.
Placed-based foundations represent a very special form of philanthropic practice. Their commitment to a specific location often transcends multiple areas of focus – a genuine commitment to polymathic practice. This article is a case study in how a private foundation successfully collaborated with the health science center of a major university to grow a healthcare work force in a rural setting.
